Judo Lessons for Beginners : How to Do a Judo Front Roll

On behalf of Expert Village my name is Richard
Acuna from Champion Martial Arts in Miami, Florida, today we are showing you beginners
judo. Okay on this clip we are going to show a front roll that we usually teach the youngsters
and the newcomers so they get a feeling what it is to roll on the mat. On this one I’m
going to tuck my chin against my chest and my head is not going to touch the mat that
is a usual mistake that beginners do. They always get there head against the mat. So
we slightly bend, tuck in our chest, put our palms down, and roll and you come up. Do it
again remember the head or the neck doesn’t touch the mat. Bend and now what we are going
to do we are going to show it longer more extended so all the way, head is always down.
As soon as I see that my head is going to hit the mat I bend right in here 1,2.
