How to make a Wooden Dummy in FIVE MINUTES! (mook yan jong, mu ren zhuang, wooden man, mook jong)

Hi friends! It’s Dima Spieler and Polar Fox
Kungfu. Today I want to show you how to make a wooden
dummy in five minutes. You’ll need almost nothing special for that.
You’ll need just a rope and a simple stool. If you want you can use… Oh, and a tree
of course. Of course you need a tree. If you want you can use nails or screws but it’s
an alive tree and I don’t want to hurt it, so I use the rope. I put the stool to the trunk so that the upper
legs are at the level of your jaw and the lower legs are at the level of the lower ribs. If you want to make a classic Wing Chun wooden dummy (muk jong) you can remove one leg and
put it this way. But I think that version with four legs is much more useful and much
more practical so I’ll do it this way. If you are using a rope, it’s essential to
turn the rope around the tree for about three times otherwise it would slide when you strike
the legs. And so the wooden dummy is ready! Is’s really
all you need for training. In order not to hurt your fists I suggest you to use your
jacket. Now you can work ok! The main thing I wanted to tell you today
is that the lack of equipment, of some complicated expensive equipment, should never be an obstacle
for training, never. That’s the close-up how our wooden dummy looks
like. You see – it’s as simple as possible. But it’s really reliable.
