  • Excellent video. Great stories, advice and insight.. I have thought about what I would do if I could time travel and change things in my pass.but I don't think I would. Every ups and downs and blessings and trials have made me who I am and what I believe and represent, and the relationship with my family and my lovely wife of 13 year's. A person learns from mistakes and good fortune. Always look to the future but don't forget the past.

  • Lessons in this video has been learned for myself Jesse my karate nerd dude. And I'm also taking my Korean martial arts using the lessons you taught for this summer before I head back to college school, and I've doing Japanese words memo posts on my Facebook social media page since you do Japanese language and karate words too. So we do have some things in common as a bro-talk. 🙂 Anyways, keep up the vids as always, bro.

  • Another brilliant video Jesse. Thank you. Such inspiring and motivational words. You are a man with wisdom beyond your years, always spoken with passion, caring and with thought provoking commentary. Fantastic.

  • Guilherme Silva says:

Been applying this same principle in my life for the past months and I can understand and relate to what you said in the video, sensei Jesse. I also had recently a mind-blowing 2nd place in a competition where I had no hope of getting past the first round. I have also been studying the traditional way of karate to better understand the reason why we do things the way we do. Great video as always. Oss. Salute from Brazil

  • I'm such a fan of yours already knew these stories from the blog! Still, inspirational! You have a talent for speeching

  • Jam master J says:

Jesse, In the odd chance you read this, I would love to see a video with that traditional move with the hand behind the head, it so interesting what people say it is, and then you show this, I have done this in kata for years and never heard this. But oddly done the self defense you showed in a different way(the hair grab).

Always love watching your videos man, don’t let the hater get to you cause in reality your one of the best martial artist in my opinion, keep doing videos and keep up the good work 👍🏻👌😁

  • Communicating what you learned: a lesson my Physics PhD supervisor taught me when I kept postponing writing up my thesis because I felt I wasn't done. But you're never done 😏

  • Super good presentation! Just one minor thing, the volume at the end title screen smacked my ears around pretty good 😂

  • Charlotte Germann says:

  • bluff_girl004 says:

Jesse sensei, thank you so much for this!! You have no idea how much I needed this right now. I have really been struggling with some things in regards to karate, i.e. my dojo closing, not being motivated to train or having anyone to train with, wanting to open my own dojo, etc. But this truly helps me when it comes to analyzing me. I'm sure I will be watching this over and over so it will sink in completely. I hope to one day be as successful of a martial artist as you, in the literal sense as well as in character! OSU!!

  • I remember all of the stories from your blog…… I really love the way you convey your lessons ….. ♥️♥️
